CAGS Certificate Awarding Ceremony 2025 – A Proud Milestone

The Ceylon Academy of Gemmological Science (CAGS) proudly held its first Certificate Awarding Ceremony on 21st August 2025 at Olympus Hall, Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies (BCIS), Colombo. This event marked a historic moment for our academy and a celebration of the dedication, talent, and achievements of our students.

Distinguished Chief Guests & Special Recognition

We were honored to welcome three respected personalities from Sri Lanka’s gem and jewellery industry as our Chief Guests:

  • Mr. Akram Cassim
  • Mr. Saman Amarasena
  • Mr. Pinisiri Wijayapala

Their presence and inspirational words added immense value to the ceremony and to our students, who are now stepping into the professional world of gemmology.

A special tribute was also extended to our Founder, Mr. Umesh Wariyapperuma, FGG, EG, whose vision and leadership continue to guide CAGS in shaping the next generation of gem professionals.

CAGS Courses & Training Programs

At CAGS, we combine practical learning, expert guidance, and field exposure to provide well-rounded gem education. Our specialized programs include:

  • Trading Gemmology (6 Days)
  • Geuda Heat Treatment (6 Days)
  • Computer-Aided Jewellery Designing (CAD)

In addition, students benefit from field visits to gem mines, lapidaries, and workshops, allowing them to bridge classroom knowledge with real-world industry practices.
